The Master Collection for Metal Gear Solid has been available since October 2023. Even while it falls short in several crucial areas compared to what we would anticipate from a contemporary remaster in the twenty-first century, it still has a sizable collection of some of the best games from the late 1990s and early 2000s.

How to enter the New Game Plus mode in MGS
You can resume Metal Gear Solid with any bonus items you obtained after reaching the game’s end. Simply choose your saved games and look for “Dock,” which is highlighted in orange, to access New Game Plus. When you launch the game, you’ll be transported to Snake’s initial incursion into Shadow Moses’ docks, complete with new gear.
How the Bandana is obtained (and what it does)
Let’s begin with the more difficult-to-obtain item: the bandana. You must persevere through Ocelot’s torture sequence in order to obtain this item. By doing this, Meryl’s survival is guaranteed. When the game is over, she will give you the bandana. You will have the item when you boot up using the above technique from this save file.
In Metal Gear Solid 2, Snake claims that the Bandana provides endless ammunition. This makes it incredibly simple to get through planned action scenes, such as the renowned staircase confrontation with the genome soldiers and boss fights. Fighting Metal Gear Rex also gets a lot simpler because you have an endless supply of chaff grenades to throw, which makes it difficult for the rockets to track you.
How to escape the cell as quickly as possible and withstand Ocelot’s torture sequence
It takes effort to win the bandana. The action button (circle on PlayStation, B on Xbox, and A on Switch) must be tapped as quickly as you can.
Attempting this with a regular controller grip is far less successful. Place the controller in your left hand’s palm and hold it from the middle. Next, rotate the controller so that the action button is pointing down towards the ground and it is facing you.
Then, with your middle and ring fingers—which you must use to stabilize your hand on the opposite side of the controller as it centers the mass of your hand over the action button—grip the underside of the right trigger of the controller while positioning the tip of your thumb above the action button, which, depending on the type of controller, will always be the right-most face button. The action button should be pressed away from you with your thumb.
Call Otacon on the codec as soon as you enter the cell following the interrogation process. After you finish one more round of torture, he will come back and give you a bottle of ketchup and some food. Lay down on the floor, hit the square button on the PlayStation (X on Xbox, Y on Switch), and wait for the guard—who just so happens to be our good friend Johnny—to go to the restroom and get the ketchup. This will give the impression that Snake is bleeding. The guard will dash into the cell to see how you’re doing when he returns. You can break his neck or knock him out if you get up quickly and get away.
Take caution—it’s simple to make a mistake here since the guard will probably rush to shut you in and subject you to yet another round of torture.
How to obtain (and the effects of) Stealth Camouflage
At the end of the game, you and Otacon will be able to leave Shadow Moses together, but Meryl will perish if you decide to give in during Ocelet’s torture scene. He will grant you access to Stealth Camo, which you may use right away when you launch a fresh copy of the game using this save file.
Snake is hidden from view from most cameras and guards by a transparent green cover created by stealth camouflage. For certain bosses, it works, but not for others. Furthermore, Snake will still be seen during prearranged run-ins with security personnel.
A few more entertaining things
You can obtain the Digital Camera after winning the game twice. You may take pictures with this and even catch a few apparitions. Without requiring any microtransactions, you can obtain Snake’s tuxedo by completing the game a third time.
