Why is my Peacock saying I’m not subscribed

by Caty

It is frustrating when you pay for a service and cannot use it. You sit down to watch a show. You open the Peacock app. You see a message saying you are not subscribed. You know you paid. The money left your bank account. Yet the screen tells you otherwise.

This issue is common. It usually happens for specific reasons. You can fix it quickly.

Check Your Login Credentials

The most frequent cause is a simple login error. You have multiple email addresses. You used one email to sign up for Peacock. You are currently logged in with a different one. The account you are using now has no active Premium plan attached to it. It defaults to a free version or shows no subscription.

Log out of the app completely. Think about which email address receives the receipts or confirmation emails. Log back in with that specific email. Pay close attention to typos. A misspelled email address creates a new, empty account.

Verify Your Payment Status

Payments fail. Your credit card expires. Your bank flags the transaction as suspicious. If Peacock cannot collect the payment, they pause your access immediately.

Go to the Peacock website peacocktv.com/tv on a computer or phone browser. Log in to your Account. Navigate to Plans & Payment. Look at the status. If it says Payment Failed or On Hold, update your payment method. Once the charge goes through, your access returns instantly.

The Issue with Third-Party Billing

You did not sign up directly through Peacock. You used Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Roku Pay, or Amazon.

These third-party systems handle the billing. Sometimes the communication between that store and Peacock breaks. The app does not know you paid Apple or Roku.

Find the Restore Purchase button. This is usually in the Settings or Account section of the Peacock app on your TV or mobile device. Click it. The app checks with the store to see if a valid subscription exists. If it finds one, it unlocks the content.

Linking Cable Provider Accounts

You get Peacock through Xfinity, Spectrum, or another provider. This requires a specific linking process. You cannot just log in with your cable ID directly in the app.

You must go to your provider’s hub or website first. Activate the Peacock offer there. They ask you to link your cable account to a Peacock email. If you skip this step, the app sees you as a standard free user. Go back to your provider’s site and finish the activation.

Activation on TV Devices

TV apps glitch often. The data gets corrupted. The app thinks you are logged out when you are not. You need to refresh the connection between your TV and your account.

Sign out of the app on the TV. Select Sign In. The screen displays a 6-digit activation code.

Grab your phone or computer. Open a browser. Go to Peacocktv.com/tv/samsung.

Enter the code displayed on your TV screen into the box on the website. This forces the servers to refresh your account status on that specific device. It syncs your active subscription from the website to the TV.

Clear Cache and Data

Old data stuck in the app causes errors. The app holds onto an old status where you were not subscribed. You must wipe this memory.

Go to the Settings menu on your streaming device. Find the Apps or Applications section. Locate Peacock. Select Clear Cache and Clear Data.

This resets the app to its default state. It forces you to log in again. This fresh login pulls the most current subscription data from the server.

Go to the app store. Download Peacock again. Install it. Log in. This ensures you run the latest version of the software with no corrupted files.

Contact Support

You tried everything. You checked the email. You verified the bank statement. You used peacocktv.com/tv to activate the device. You restored the purchase.

The problem is on their end. Contact Peacock Customer Support. Have your invoice or transaction ID ready. They will locate your account and fix the backend error manually.
